9ct Gold Signet Ring

We were visited by a Gentleman who had an old worn out signet ring that was very sentimental that he wanted remade.

The price to melt the ring adding new gold was prohibitive as it would have had to be completely hand made.

Instead we had the signet ring design stamped out of a sheet of 9ct gold as a long strip. We turned this up into a complete ring as you can see in the images.

To incorporate the gents sentimental signet ring, we melted the ring down and used it as part of the shank of the new ring. The Gentleman wanted to be able to tell the difference between the old ring and the new, so we engraved 2 lines inside the ring to distinguish the two.

This is something we have done many times now to incorporate existing sentimental jewellery into a new replacement piece.
