About us

Who are we

Who are we

The Jewellery Workshop Maidstone was founded in 1974 by Geoff Kewell, first in his house in Walderslade offering retail and trade jewellery repairs before having to move to bigger premises when his daughter was born. Geoff moved the business to different locations within Maidstone whilst the business was growing before finally settling in to the current location in Gabriels Hill.

Jason joined the business in 1994 after working for P J Steel in Chatham for many years and is still our resident Goldsmith on the premises. Jason is the person that you will usually see working away behind the counter doing all our jewellery repairs and commissions.

Donna joined the business in 1999 and is responsible for purchasing the beautiful jewellery that we sell, and is more likely to be the person handling all of your special requests and orders.

Geoff Kewell retired in 2002 and moved to Scotland leaving an opening for the now current manager Richard who is responsible for the day to day running of the business. Richard is also the main designer in the shop who will be happy to design that individual item of jewellery for you.

As well as Richard, Donna and Jason who you will regularly see in the shop we do have a few part time sales staff Natalie, Carol and Emma as well as our diamond setter, also named Richard.

The Jewellery Workshop is a Limited Liability Partnership consisting of Richard Daniel and Jason Beer
